none of this is true

this is for people who stretch their ear lobes or have stretched and have been asked by someone ‘so how long have you been guaging for?’

getbuck:

Gauging? Gauges?

Let me try and make this clear:
The process of enlarging a piercing is called stretching, not “gauging”.
The jewelry you wear in stretched lobes that look like solid circles are called plugs, not “gauges”.
The ones with the holes that you can see through are called eyelets, not “gauges”.
The word “gauge” is a measurement, like “size”. It is correct to ask “what gauge are those plugs?” or say “these are 4 gauge eyelets.” Gauge is abbreviated by a “g” or “ga” after the number, “I have 6g conch piercings.”

Impress us by calling plugs “plugs” and not “gauges” and by calling stretching “stretching” and not “gauging” (we will laugh at you in secret if you say the wrong thing)
